Research

Research Phase

The main objective of this work package is to identify the needs of parents and professionals who support children during the separation process and to develop educational content based on these needs.
Throughout the research process, we aim to understand in which areas adults need information, in which areas they require emotional support, and where they need practical tools. This work seeks to ensure that the training programmes and digital tools we develop are grounded in real-life experiences.

Within the scope of the research, we are seeking answers to the following questions:

  • In which areas do parents need the most support during the separation process?
  • Where do parents and professionals experience difficulties when supporting children?
  • What gaps exist in the current support systems?

Method

Our research process combines different methods. This approach allows us to collect data from a broad group of participants while also gaining a deeper understanding of individual experiences.

1. Online Survey

We collect large-scale data through online surveys designed for both parents and professionals.

Through these surveys, we aim to analyse more comprehensively:

  • the challenges experienced during the separation process,
  • gaps in knowledge and skills,
  • access to support systems,
  • needs for training and practical tools.

2. In-depth Interviews

One-on-one interviews with parents and professionals allow us to better understand personal experiences.

In these interviews, we explore in greater detail:

  • the impact of the separation process on adults,
  • difficulties experienced in communication with children,
  • gaps in existing support and emerging needs.

If you would like to participate, please contact us.

3. Focus Group Discussions

Focus group sessions provide a space where parents and professionals can come together to reflect on their experiences and needs.

During these sessions we:

  • discuss the meaning of “good support”,
  • make mutual expectations visible,
  • develop concrete suggestions that will guide the training content.

Your experiences, views, and suggestions will help ensure that the educational materials we develop are closely connected to real-life needs.

We invite you to join our research process and contribute to creating safer support spaces together.
